The United States Department of Labor has promulgated new regulations to implement the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). Those regulations (html – pdf) go into effect today, January 18, 2005. The regulations apply to both private and public employers, but there are a number of factors that will affect the precise rights granted to employees serving in the military.
