New Military Leave Regulations Take Effect Today

The United States Department of Labor has promulgated new regulations to implement the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). Those regulations (htmlpdf) go into effect today, January 18, 2005. The regulations apply to both private and public employers, but there are a number of factors that will affect the precise rights granted to employees serving in the military.
