As widely reported, Governor Rendell recently signed Act 112 of 2006, which gradually increases the minimum wage requirements of Pennsylvania’s Wage Payment and Collection Law. The wage will be increased to $6.25 per hour effective January 1, 2007, and then to $7.15 per hour effective July 1, 2007. Some small employers (those having fewer than 10 employees) have a longer period of time in which to phase in the increase, with the final increase not being effective until 2008.
