For all of you employers who are frustrated with the fact that employees always seem to win in the unemployment compensation context, Foxnews.com has what I believe is a rather humorous story about an employee who was fired for keeping a log of her efforts to refrain from doing work.
Apparently, the woman kept such a log on her employer’s computer, and was fired when the log was discovered. The woman sought unemployment benefits (that part does not suprise you, I know), and ultimately lost.
As a reminder, employer-provided computers are for doing work, and using them for other purposes can be grounds for termination. Even terminations that can be upheld by the UC Office.
