On February 6, 2007, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell introduced his 2007-2008 Executive Budget. As Governor Rendell touts his accomplishments in delivering property tax relief (yes, he really does claim to have done it), he now introduces some new and increased taxes, including the widely reported proposal to increase the state sales tax.
Here is a link to the Governor’s budget page, where you can watch or read his Budget Address or read about the various proposals. As someone who is interested in public sector activity, there is bound to be something of interest to you in this latest budget. (For example: PSBA has applauded Governor Rendell for his proposal to increase funding for basic education subsidies and for special education services.)
Read and enjoy.
