Act 1 Ballot Questions Overwhelmingly Rejected

PA voters failed to fall for the claims that Act 1 would provide tax relief, as a number of Act 1 ballot questions were rejected yesterday. According to reports, only a handful of districts had voters approve of the question (maybe 7 or so of more than 150 that I am aware of so far). Although the data is still incomplete, the PA Department of State is tracking the results, which you can find by clicking the links below:

Results for counties A through C [pdf]

Results for counties D through M [pdf]

Results for counties N through Y [pdf]

Hopefully, the DOS will continue to update the results, so we can get a more accurate picture of how voters in each district acted. It already appears, though, that many have rejected the “tax shift.”

The Big Question – How will the Governor and the Legislature respond?

[UPDATE:  The Pennsylvania School Boards Association has confirmed that voters in nine districts approved of the referendum.]
